The Seventh Sunday after Pentecost

During challenging days we might have anxious thoughts, and those thoughts result in unintended actions that hurt others. We don’t want to hurt others, but the anxieties in our inner thought life can cause harmful words and manipulative actions that impact those around us. This week's passage for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there is any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23,24

Take a breath, think about what you are thinking about, and ask God to take away those inner anxieties. Praying with you this week that God, who is acquainted with all our ways, will lead us in His everlasting way.
